25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mabika conducted an unannounced annual random inspection at the above facility. LPA was met by the Assistant director, Annette Ponce who performed the Covid protocols on LPA before guided the analyst on the tour of the facility.
The facility is a combination center and also possesses a pre-school license which is located in a separate classrooms. LPA toured and inspected the infant classrooms in accordance with the facility sketch. There are a total of 4 classrooms and 4 restrooms in the facility. During today's inspection LPA observed 8 infants and toddlers in care with a total of 2 staff (1 for infants and 1 for the toddlers) monitoring children. After reviewing documentation LPA observed each teacher had the required infant units and was operating within ration. The facility operates from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. Monday through Friday.
Per, the licensee, there are no firearms or weapons on the premise. LPA did not observed bodies of water on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children were found to be inaccessible to children. LPA observed that all cleaning and disinfectants items are stored in cabinets that are locked by a key in rooms A , B , C, and D. There also are magnetic locks underneath the cupboards in which diapers are stored.
Furniture and equipment Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness, all furniture was safe and appropriate for all infants. The infant rooms were clean and well organized. There is a working telephone in each classroom. Heating, lighting, and ventilation are adequate. There are labelled cubbies for children's belongings in each classroom. A count of four infant cribs was noted in the Infant room. along with sleep mats and one evacuation crib on premises. Cleaning supplies are under lock and key and are kept out of the infant's reach. There is a diaper changing station in every classroom a sink was observed near the changing station. Changing stations have at least one inch thick padding covered with washable vinyl pads washed after every use, per infant teachers.
All children's diapers, wipes, cups and bottles were properly labeled with the each child's name. LPA observed age appropriate toys and materials in the classrooms.
