On September 21, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA Calloway conducted an unannounced complaint inspection to LA Petite Academy. LPA met with the Director who granted access. The purpose of the inspection was to deliver findings for a complaint investigation regarding the above three allegations. LPA observed 11 Staff and 67 napping day care children.

During the investigation, LPA conducted confidential interviews with staff, parents, children, and all parties involved. Allegation #1- Unqualified staff in the classroom. Based on interviews and record reviews, staff have completed required college Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses that qualify them to be inside the classroom. Allegation #2- No Director or Lead present during a full day of operation- Based on interviews and record reviews, if the Director or Assistant Director is out, there is a lead person that can sit in the capacity of the Director until they return. Allegation #3- Staff is out of ratio, based on interviews, if staff calls out, the center can replace staff from a list of ten subs within ten minutes to remain in ratio.

Therefore, for all three (3) allegations, this complaint is Unsubstantiated- meaning the allegation may have happened or is valid, but there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred.

An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report was read, a Notice of Site Visit was discussed and provided to Kecia Lovings, Director at the facility. Failure to maintain posting of the Notice of Site Visit for thirty (30) consecutive days will result in a $100 Civil Penalty.
