32 | During staff interviews, LPA learned on or about March 10, 2020 a child had “diarrhea”, the child’s diaper log revealed that staff changed the child’s diaper several times that day due to “diarrhea”. On or about March 10, 2020, the child was picked up by their representative at approximately 3:30 pm, it was disclosed that staff advised the child’s representative that the child had “diarrhea” and as a result the child’s bottom was red. Staff admitted to their nails being long, however staff deny scratching the child. An internal investigation was conducted by the facility, it was disclosed that staff nails were checked for sharpness, and length. But, it was reported that although some staff fingernails were long, they did not appear to be sharp.
During other interviews with pertinent individuals, LPA learned on or about March 10, 2020 the child’s representative took the child to their pediatrician and the pediatrician reportedly diagnosed the child with a diaper rash.
There were conflicting statements regarding the child sustaining an unexplained injury. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is no preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is deemed unsubstantiated at this time.
An exit interview was conducted via Skype, notice of site visit posted and verified via Skype. LPA Robinson provided the director with a copy of this report via email with an electronic “read receipt” .
