32 | Licensee provides all meals during operational hours. Knives, sharp items, and cleaning compounds stored under kitchen sink away from food, made inaccessible by a pad lock. Children utilize the back yard for outdoor play. LPA inspected the outdoor play area for safety, cleanliness, good repair, and shady areas. LPA observed a large play structure, swings, various play areas, and benches. The outdoor play area enclosed by fencing. Per licensee and LPA observation, no pools/spas/bodies of water on premises. LPA informed licensee that all wading pools and water slides must be emptied after each use and hung dry. Licensee must provide active supervision during all water play activities.
File Review: LPA reviewed licensee’s file and assistant’s file which included all required documentation. LPA reviewed one child file which included all required documentation. LPA observed three pets on premises. Licensee maintains vaccination records for pets.
LPA reviewed the overnight care regulations with the licensee, discussed supervision plans, and provided licensee with a copy of Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, Article 6 – Section 102426 (Overnight Care).

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Any duly authorized officer, employee, or agent of the Department shall, upon presentation of proper identification, shall inspect the facility. The Licensee shall permit the Department to inspect the family childcare home, and to privately interview children or staff, to determine compliance with or to prevent violations of family child care laws or regulations. Also, to enter and inspect any place providing personal care, supervision and services at any time, with or without advance notice, to secure compliance with, or to prevent a violation. |
