25 | On the above noted date and time, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Diana Brasel conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for decrease in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with lead teacher and Facility Representative Danya Sanders-Hester Agent, Early Education. Licensee is requesting to be licensed for 24 preschool children ages 3-5 in the Rocking Horse #1 room. The facility has requested to remove one classroom and decrease from a capacity of 53 children to 24 children. After measuring the classroom on today's visit the room measures for 22 children, an updated LIC 200A was obtained for a requested capacity of 22 preschool children. Days and Hours of operation will be Monday - Friday 7:30am - 3:00pm. The facility has an am and pm session. Present during today’s inspection were (14) children with (2) staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Danya Sanders-Hester that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured new additional indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured 787.42, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 22 preschool children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via drinking fountains. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property.
LPA Brasel will obtain the updated needed Fire clearance for the pending decrease from 53 to 22.
