25 | On February 19, 2025 at 12:16pm Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Zirbes and Cha met with the Facility Representative Lugene Springfield for the purpose of conducting an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPAs toured and inspected the entire center, which consists of three classrooms, classroom 3 ( services 2-3 year old children) Class 2 (services 3-5 year old children) and Classroom 1 (serves 3-5 year old children, two children's restrooms, two staff restrooms, one community restroom, a family learning center, kitchen, teacher lounge, two staff offices, lobby/reception area, speech therapy room, outdoor activity space, and various storage closets. LPA observed three classrooms being utilized during this inspection with a total of 31 preschool children and seven teachers providing supervision. Additional administrative/support staff members were on site. Based on LPA observation, the Center was meeting the capacity and ratios requirements at the time of the inspection. The facility operates from 7:00am until 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
Indoor/Children's Area: Child care center was observed to be clean, and sanitary. all outdoor and indoor passageways, stair ways, incline, ramps, open porches and other areas of potential hazard are kept free of obstruction; floors of all rooms have a surface that is safe and clean. Cleaning compounds were stored in each classroom either on a on high inaccessible location or in cabinets equipped with child safety locks. Per facility representative there are zero poisons stored within the preschool. LPA observed the indoor furniture was in good condition. Classroom was free of flies, other insects and rodents. The classrooms had tables and chairs to meet the children's needs. LPA observed the Center had a variety of art supplies, blocks, and books. Children's belongings are kept in cubbies labeled with the children's names. Trash cans for solid waste have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available indoors via water cups and a water coolers. All materials and surfaces are toxic free, window screens in good repair and free of debris. LPA observed a carbon monoxide detector in the Center.
