32 | LPA observed a fire alarm and pull switch on wall upon entrance. Licensee stated if children are sick separate room will be used for isolation area from other children in care. Licensee states there are 9 pets on the premises; 4 dogs and 5 cats. Licensee states that dogs do not interact with day care children, cats are able to interact with day care children. Licensee states they are part of a food program, Angel food program.
The outdoor area is enclosed with fencing all around. The backyard is sectioned into four parts. The section to the left is fenced and houses 4 large dogs. The section in the center has 2 parts front and back. The front has a large locked shed blocking pool visibility, a small locked shed, vegetable garden, locked freezer, a locked greenhouse, covered patio, and patio furniture. The section in the back has an empty pool, a pool house, 2 grills and other miscellaneous items. The section on the right is the daycare children’s play area. Children use the backyard for outside play. The gating that encloses the pool was observed to be more than five (5) feet tall, life ring and rescue pole were observed. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and furniture. Licensee states water is made readily available for children.
LPA reviewed sampling of children and staff files and found them to be current. One Assistants Mandated reporter is expired, second assistant and Licensee has Mandated that is current. Licensee stated that assistant #1 will renew their Mandated Reporter and turn into LPA Chacon, a Technical Violation was given for the absence of the Mandated Reporter. Licensees Pediatric CPR/First Aide was current and expires 1/2027. Assistant Pediatric CPR/First Aide is current and expires 7/2027. Last emergency drill was conducted on 6/2026.
At this time there were no deficiencies cited.
LPA conducted closing script and notice of site was given and must be posted within 30 days.
Licensee [or facility representative] was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
