Licensing Program Analysts (LPA's), Dorsey & Ibitoye met with Director Clementina Baxter today for the purpose of conducting a required - 1 year inspection of the preschool. Present today were 8 children and 2 teachers (which includes the Director). The preschool is connected to Rio Vista Elementary School.

Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness, cleanliness and good repair. Telephone service was verified as well as heating, lighting, and ventilation. LPA's observed age appropriate toys and materials. The preschool component is separate from the elementary school. Furniture and equipment were observed in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts.

LPA Dorsey & Ibitoye observed the outdoor play area for the children. The play area includes a concrete area and a play structure for the children to play. LLPA's observed all outdoor toys and equipment were in good repair. LPA's observed there was adequate padding under the play structure. LPA's did not observe any hazardous items on the preschool play area.

Per Director food is brought to the classroom to the children from the cafeteria. The Director states the preschool normally has two session, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Per Director the school cafeteria provides snacks for both sessions. Per director no children in care take any medications. Any medications would be stored in the staff restroom in a cabinet that is locked with a key. The Director states some children medication would be also stored in the nurses office. Storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins were observed to have tight-fitting covers that are kept on and in good repair.

Teacher/child ratio was observed to be within regulations. LPA's observed the Fire/earthquake drills were current the last drill was conducted 08/09/21. LPA's observed Mandated Reporter training for Director expires 11/13/21. The parent board was reviewed and has all of the required forms posted. Sign in/out is documented electronically.

Director Clementina Baxters First Aid/CPR certificate was observed and found current (Expires: 08/2023). LPA's observed carbon monoxide detectors were in operable condition. LPA's observed the fire extinguisher next to the parents board was serviced 07/2021. First Aid kit is located in the preschool classroom next to the parents board. Children's allergy lists is located on a refrigerator in the classroom.

LPA's observed staff and children files were to be complete.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. The administrator was reminded to access the Licensing website at ccld.ca.gov to obtain information about the most recent regulatory changes, and for the Quarterly Updates. Licensee advised to regularly review Quarterly Updates. Facility was evaluated in accordance with licensing laws and regulations to ensure the health and safety of children.

LIC 9213- Notice of Site Visit was given. Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to do so will result in an immediate civil penalty assessment of $100.

Exit Interview conducted and a copy of the report was read and provided to Director Baxter.
