with a 2-A:10-B:C classification (reading in green, checked at 11:06 A.M). Safe and age-appropriate toys, books, cubbies for supplies, kitchen set toys and other learning materials were observed during the inspection. Licensee provides eight cots for children to use during napping.
Licensee has a first aid kit box that is stored in the dining area. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector are in operable condition (checked at 11:06 A.M.). LPA observed electrical outlets are covered with display cabinets and other furniture to prevent access by children in care. Licensee stated that she owns no firearms, and no one smoke in the facility.
Licensee is advised that baby bouncers, saucer chairs, or any recalled and or banned toys or sleep/ play equipment are prohibited on the premises. Licensee is advised to check for fixture, furniture and equipment that have been banned or recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Bathroom: Toilet, sink and faucet were clean and operable. During the inspection, LPA did not observed razors and/or sharp objects, shampoos, mouthwash, medications, perfumes, air freshener, nail polish and nail remover that will pose a health and safety risk to children in care.
Currently, the licensee has zero children enrolled in the facility and the last day that she provides day care was on October 7, 2020. Licensee stated that when a child shows signs of illness, he/she is separated from other children in the dining area of the facility.
Outdoor: The facility has a body of water on the premises. LPA observed that the self-latching device on the gate of the pool is broken. Licensee is currently securing the gate by using a chain and a pad lock to make it inaccessible to children. Licensee told LPA that she will have it fix before she could have day care children.
The outdoor play area has a covered porch. LPA observed a dilapidated portion of the ceiling covering the porch. Licensee told LPA that she is planning to renovate the covered porch. Age-appropriate toys were also observed in the outdoor play area. Per licensee, she supervised children while playing outside.
