LPA has visited facility multiple times and has not observed children go into the area. LPA observed toilets and sinks in the restrooms to be in good repair and fully functional. LPA observed staff supervising children when toileting. LPA observed cabinets in restroom containing hazardous materials accessible to children.
LPA inspected the kitchen and observed food to be properly stored and labeled in the cabinets and refrigerator. LPA observed menu on the refrigerator as well as list of children with food allergies. Per staff, menu and snacks do not include variety. LPA did not observe menus accessible to public. LPA inspected the outdoor play spaces. LPA observed the front gated play area has barrier coming apart under wood chips and spaces that need to be replenished. LPA observed wading pool properly stored and empty. LPA observed old, outdated toys to be broken both in front and back play spaces. LPA observed cabinets in all classrooms, restrooms, and kitchen inoperable making areas accessible to children. LPA observed doors with locks to make kitchen inaccessible.
Heating, lighting, and ventilation were evaluated by LPA Diaz. LPA observed central AC/heater and vents located on the ceiling. LPA observed the thermostats located in classrooms and temperatures to be appropriately set to 20 degrees lower than outside temperatures. LPA observed the fire extinguishers located at the entrance and in 4s classroom to be green, fully charged and meets the standards of the State Fire Marshall. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and operable. Last emergency drill was conducted on 4/2024. LPA observed napping equipment mats to be in good condition. First aid kits are kept in the kitchen and the 4s classroom. LPA observed some of the required materials missing. LPA Diaz did not observe any weapons, firearms, or bodies of water. Per Facility Representative, sick children are isolated away from other children until either they are feeling better depending on the severity of their illness, or a parent or guardian arrives to pick them up.
The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects, and rodents.
