25 | On Monday, December 2, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Braddock, conducted an unannounced annual visit. LPA met with Licensee, Celia Molina who guided LPA on a tour of the home. People who reside in the home are (Licensee, Spouse, ) who are live scanned and have TB skin test on file . The large family childcare home operates Monday through Friday, 5:00AM to 4:30AM. Licensee was advised that a staff member must always be awake while children are in care (for 23 hour operation). At the time of the visit there were 3 children present with 3 staff members.
This is a two story 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with kitchen, dining room, living room and garage. Children have access to Bedroom #1, living room , kitchen and backyard. Children use the bathroom in the hallway. Off limit areas include all Bedrooms upstairs #2, #3, #4, bathroom #2. Licensee states that there are no pets at the facility. LPA did not observe pets at the facility. There is not a swimming pool/body of water on the premises.
The Children play in the backyard. The play area is clear and clean of debris, play area is fenced and gated all around, play yard is dirt, There is a jungle gym that is anchored, Little Tikes play equipment, monkey bar, octagon climber and other age appropriate toys observed to be free of hazards.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Medications are stored upstairs in the off limits bedroom inaccessible to children. The kitchen knives are stored in cabinet and made inaccessible. Cleaning compounds are stored in the off limits garage inaccessible to children.
The First Aid kit is located in the kitchen in the lower cabinet inaccessible to children. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA did not observe any weapons or firearms. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition. The Fire Extinguisher is green, fully charged, and meets the standards of the State Fire Marshal. The licensee’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 8/31/26.
