On 12/16/24 at 9:10 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patricia Berry conducted a subsequent complaint investigation. LPA met with Deseree Jones/director and was granted access into the facility. LPA toured facility and took a census.

Allegation: Staff yell at daycare children.

It was alleged staff were yelling at daycare children. LPA interviewed all pertinent parties, including staff and children. Pertinent parties stated there may be times staff raise their voices for various reasons and there may be times children may or may not be affected by staff raising their voices. Pertinent parties stated staff raising their voices is never with malicious intent; however, could be perceived to children as yelling.

Pertinent parties stated staff need to raise their voices sometimes to talk over the children in the classroom or playground if either is loud.

Due to conflicting information obtained from interviews and what was alleged, LPA is unable to determine if staff yell at daycare children. Although the allegation may have happened, or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.

Appeal rights issued and discussed with director and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report and Notice of Site Visit was provided to director. THIS REPORT MUST BE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC FOR THREE YEARS.

Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days.
