25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Zirbes met with Licensee Chelsea Vinson for the purpose of conducting an unannounced Annual/Random inspection for the Preschool Center. During the inspection, LPA observed three toddlers with one teacher and one aide providing supervision and five preschool age children with one teacher, with additional Administrative and support staff available. Based on LPA observation the Center was meeting the ratio and capacity regulations during this inspection. The preschool age component is operated out of two classrooms (one is designated for napping), and the toddler component is also operated out of one classroom. The Center has a kitchen, staff restroom, staff office, an additional storage space, and outdoor activity space. The facility currently operates Monday through Friday 7:00am -5:00pm.
Indoor/Children's Area: Child care center was observed to be clean, sanitary, and in good repair; all outdoor and indoor passageways, stair ways, incline, ramps, open porches and other areas of potential hazard are kept free of obstruction; floors of all rooms have a surface that is safe and clean. Cleaning compounds were stored in each classroom on inaccessible shelf's, and in locked storage spaces. LPA observed the indoor furniture/equipment was in good condition. Classrooms were free of flies, other insects and rodents. The classrooms had tables and chairs to meet the children's needs. LPA observed each classroom had a variety of art supplies, blocks, books, dramatic play, library space. Children's belongings are kept in cubbies labeled with the children's names. Trash cans for solid waste have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available indoors via children's water cups which are filled from bottled water that is delivered to the Center. All materials and surfaces are toxic free, window screens in good repair and free of debris. LPA observed carbon monoxide detectors throughout the licensed space.
Restrooms: Each classroom has a restroom with three toilets, and three sinks. The toddler classroom, was equipped with a changing table. Toilets and sinks were functioning properly, sanitary and are age appropriate. Paper towels and soap were available to the children.
