25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Zirbes and Cha met with Facility Representative Zaray Ochoa for the purpose of conducting an unannounced Annual/Random inspection for the preschool component. LPAs toured and inspected the facility in accordance with the facility sketch. There were 35 preschool age children, with four teachers providing supervision. In addition there were four additional Administrative/Supportive staff on site. Based on LPAs observation the facility was meeting the capacity/ratio requirements during this inspection.
The center operates out of a one story building. The preschool program consists of four classrooms, three preschool bathrooms, outdoor activity space and dining area (room 10). At the time of this inspection, classroom 2 and bathroom 2 were not in use. This center has an infant program (364844264) and school age program (364844265). All three components utilize the following spaces: kitchen, staff office, staff break room, staff restroom, various storage areas and a garage. The program operates Monday thru Friday 6:30am -6:00pm In addition, the Center has two approved waivers regarding commingling and outdoor activity space.
Indoor/Children's Area: Child care center was observed to be clean, sanitary. all outdoor and indoor passageways, stair ways, incline, ramps, open porches and other areas of potential hazard are kept free of obstruction; floors of all rooms have a surface that is safe and clean. Cleaning compounds were stored in a key locked cabinet near the kitchen and on high inaccessible shelves in each classroom and bathroom. Per facility representative there are zero poisons stored within the preschool. LPA observed the indoor furniture was in good condition. Classroom was free of flies, other insects and rodents. The classrooms had tables and chairs to meet the children's needs. LPA observed the Center had a variety of art supplies, blocks, and books. Children's belongings are kept in cubbies labeled with the children's names. A separate labeled plastic storage bin is utilized for the children's napping equipment. LPA and facility representative discussed the importance of ensuring no childs bedding comes into contact with another child's bedding.
