Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Victoria Chitgian conducted an unannounced Required Annual Inspection. LPA met with Case Manager, Tammy Higgins. The Administrator, Karin Etheridge was unable to attend, but was available on the phone.

LPA inspected the facility inside and outside. LPA observed all passageways are clear of obstructions. LPA observed grab bars in the bathrooms. Disinfectants, toxins and cleaning supplies are locked and inaccessible to clients, stored in the janitorial closet. There are no firearms/ammunition or bodies of water.

Clients bring own lunch to the facility and AM and PM snacks are provided. There is an adequate supply of snacks for clients in care. LPA observed the kitchen area to be clean, free of odors, and in a healthful manner. No sharps or knives were present.

LPA observed sufficient staff present for the number of clients in care. Day program does not administer medication and no medication is stored at the facility. LPA observed all fire extinguishers to be recently serviced and completely charged. Carbon Monoxide detectors are in process of being installed. LPA reviewed the facility fire/disaster drill log. The last fire drill was conducted on 4/13/23 and the last disaster drill was conducted on 4/24/2023.

LPA reviewed staff records, which were all organized and complete. All staff present have criminal record clearances and are associated to the facility properly. Due to time restrictions, LPA was unable to review Administrator file for qualifications and continuing education requirements, the Emergency Disaster plan and Client records.
No deficiencies cited per Title 22, Division 6 of the California Code of Regulations at this time.
An exit interview was conducted where this report was discussed and provided to Case Manager Tammy Higgins.
