25 | On April 24, 2024, at 09:05 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Zirbes met with Licensee Cassandra Haney who guided analyst on a tour of the home for the Annual/Required inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed six children in care (all over age 2) with the Licensee providing supervision. During the inspection one additional child age 4 arrived. Currently living in the home are the Licensee, and three minor children ages (15, 11, 10). All adults are associated and have eligible clearances. Current days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:00am to 5:00pm.
Physical Plant: This is a single story house with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, daycare room, attached garage, with a front and backyard. The following areas of the home are on limits: the daycare room, living room, dining room, kitchen, backyard and hallway bathroom. The off-limits areas consist of: all three bedrooms, bathroom within the primary bedroom, and the garage. These areas have been made inaccessible via the use of door locks and child safety locks.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medicines and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. During the inspection, LPA observed the child safety latch on the kitchen cabinet containing cleaning supplies was not engaged and laundry soap was on top of the children's cubbies. LPA did not observe the children accessing these areas without supervision during the inspection. LPA advised the Licensee to check all cabinets containing cleaning supplies and conduct a walk through of the on limit areas prior to opening to ensure cleaning products are inaccessible. LPA observed household medications were stored in high inaccessible kitchen cabinets. LPA advised the Licensee to relocate the medications or install a child safety lock on the cabinet since the Licensee is enrolling additional school age children in the program. Technical advisory notices were issued. Knives and sharp kitchen items were stored in a container located in a high inaccessible kitchen cabinet shelf. Per Licensee at the time if this inspection, zero medications are provided to the child care children. Report continued on page two |
