On April 26, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Kuliema Calloway made an unannounced Case Management Inspection visit to the above Family Child Care Home. LPA met with Licensee's assistant who granted access. During the inspection visit, LPA observed a bouncy seat and a baby walker inside the day care.

A Type B deficiency was issued during this visit. Per Title 22, Division 6, HSC,1596.846 (b) for Baby Walker. See 809 D for deficiency cited.

Exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report, Notice of Site Visit, and Appeals Rights were discussed and provided to the licensee at the facility. A Notice of Site visit was posted and must remain posted for 30 days. Removal of posting is subject to a $100 civil penalty.

Licensee will provide a written declaration stating they will not use bouncy seats, or baby walkers inside the day care and adhere to the regulations of the Health and Safety Code and submit the declaration to the Department by: 5/5/2023.

Based on observation and interview, LPA entered the home to deliver findings and observed the licensee's assistant removing a bouncy seat to a back room and LPA observed a second baby walker in the infant area. Licensee was informed that baby walkers and bouncy seats are not allowed.
