25 | On 06/23/2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Ana Rodriguez and Carol Heath conducted an unannounced Capacity Increase Inspection. LPA was greeted by licensee Jacquesh Varnado, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Residing in the home are the Licensee, two minor children, and spouse. Upon arrival, LPAs observed 4 day care children in care the ages are 4,5,6, and 11. There is no pool or spa, however there is a blowup pool on the premises. Licensee emptied pool prior to LPAs leaving the home.
Facility operates Monday through Friday 23 hours. Licensee is requesting a capacity increase for license capacity of 14 children. A Fire Clearance has been granted effective 05/19/2025. LPAs went over the child care ratios for a large family home with licensee and provided licensee with a copy.
This is a two-story single-family home. There is a living room, dining room, kitchen, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, laundry room, garage, and classroom. Main care is provided in the classroom, living room and dining room. The off-limits areas are bedroom #1, #2, #3, Bathrooms #2 and #3, laundry room, garage, and loft in the second floor (off limits).
Children utilize the bathroom located to the left from the main entrance of the home. LPA did not observe any hazardous items in the child care bathroom. Fire extinguisher located on top shelf of the child care bathroom.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, service, heating, and center air ventilation. The home has age-appropriate toys, play equipment and materials. Licensee stores sharp knives in the top kitchen cabinet to the right of the kitchen sink. Medication is stored inaccessible to children in master bedroom in a locked box. Cleaning supplies are not accessible to children (maintained in the bottom of the kitchen sink with magnetic locks. Licensee has a complete Emergency First Aid Kit with a thermometer in the home, which is stored inaccessible to children in the upper shelf of the day care bathroom. Children sleep on cots and mats during naptime in the living room. The backyard is utilized for outdoor play and is gated all around and enclosed.
