25 | On October 30, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Annelise Villa conducted a pre-licensing inspection with Applicant Barbara Wright, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a two-story house with 7 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms, family room, living room, garage, laundry area, kitchen, and front and back yards. The family members residing in the home are applicant and 2 minor children.
The facility will operate 24 hours a day, Monday through Sunday with a license capacity of 8 children. LPA went over the childcare ratios for a small family home with applicant and provided applicant a copy.
Main care will be provided in the living room. Children will eat at tables set up in the kitchen area. The day care children will utilize bathroom #1 located in the downstairs hallway. Off limit areas will be all bedrooms, bathroom #2-3, all upstairs areas, family room, laundry area, garage, and front yard.
LPA observed day care area to be clean and orderly, central air and heating, age-appropriate toys and play equipment, working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition.
Children’s restroom is located in the downstairs hallway. Bathroom #1 was observed to be free of hazardous materials or objects. LPA reminded applicant the children's bathroom must be free of shampoos, mouthwash, medication, perfumes, razor, air freshener, nail polish and polish remover. LPA observed a clean, safe and operable toilet and faucet.
LPA observed a fire extinguisher in the kitchen area (1A10BC). LPA advised Applicant a 2A10BC fire extinguisher must be purchased prior to enrolling daycare children. First aid kit located is in the in the in daycare area. Per applicant, there are no medications in the home. Cleaning items are inaccessible to children stored underneath the kitchen sink which is inaccessible to children in care. |
