25 | On January 28, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kris Diaz met with licensee, Norma Contreras, who granted access and guided LPA on a tour of the home. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a Pre-licensing Inspection for a relocation. People who reside in the home are the licensee and her spouse/assistant, Hisham Raai who have background clearance and TB Skin test on file and their minor child (14). Licensee’s mother, Sofia Arechiga also lives in the home. Sofia is currently out of the country and will get TB skin test upon return. The licensee is requesting to operate as a large family childcare home. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Sunday, 23 hours per day. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed with the licensee.
This is a one-story family home. The home consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, formal living room, dining room, garage, laundry room, an ADU (converted for childcare) with 2 childcare spaces separated by safety gate for preschool ages and infants, 2 restrooms inside (one designated for children and one for staff), outside play space with an enclosed fence to separate the area from the main backyard, and an outside restroom for use during outdoor play. There is no body of water on the premises. The primary care will be conducted in the childcare space. Children will have access to the entire childcare space, the children’s restroom, the outdoor play area, and the outside restroom. The off-limit areas of the home include the main house and garage which is made off limits with a key lock, and the main backyard area which is made off-limits by a locked gate. LPA observed blankets and mats for napping in the childcare area. LPA observed several age-appropriate toys and activities in the childcare area and the backyard. Per licensee, there are 2 dogs that will be moved to the home and kept in the main house.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating, and ventilation. The kitchen knives will be stored on the top shelf in the kitchen area inaccessible to children. Cleaning compounds are stored in the laundry room of the main house inaccessible to children.
Per Licensee, the fully stocked first aid kit is in the kitchen area of the childcare space inaccessible.
