Licensing Program Analysts (LPA's) Maddox and Ibitoye met with Director Melissa Davids today for the purpose of conducting a Req 1 year inspection. This center has 2 separate buildings, the preschool occupies the front area of the center, and the school age component occupies the the rear part of the main area and the detached building. Center operates Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.
  • LPA observed age appropriate furniture, equipment, toys and materials. The classrooms were observed to be clean and safe and free of any Health or safety hazards. Telephone service was verified as well as adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation. Children's belongings are kept in cubbies and hooks for jackets along the wall as you enter classrooms. Drinking water is available inside the classroom in the form of a water fountain and disposable cups.
  • The children's bathroom is located in the main entrance area. The bathroom has 6 toilets and 7 sinks. The staff rest-room is located in the rear of the 1st building. LPA observed the bathrooms to be clean and sanitary, with soap, toilet paper and paper towels readily available. Toilets and sinks are functioning
  • Center has stackable cots, individually stored so that each child's bedding is identifiable and no child's used bedding comes into contact with other bedding.
  • All flooring and carpets were inspected for cleanliness, and in good repair.
  • Sign in and out sheets - Center uses an App (Bright wheel ) which allows parents to sign in and out electronically. were inspected and contain full legal signatures.

  • Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, good repair and age appropriateness. Center utilizes sand and wood chips under climbing structures for cushioning material and there is sufficient and adequate shade available (natural shade from trees and covered patio area. Large play equipment and climbing structures are securely anchored. The area was observed to be free of debris. Outside Drinking water is available (water bottles) in the form of a water fountain, children also bring their own water bottles. Sandboxes are raked and inspected daily and kept free of hazardous foreign materials. There are no bodies of water observed on the premises. The playground is enclosed by a fence to protect children and to keep them in the outdoor activity area.
  • Food preparation area/Kitchen was inspected for safety, cleanliness, proper equipment & protection against contamination and storage. Center serves breakfast and lunch, menus observed and posted. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that could pose a danger if readily available to children were stored and inaccessible to children
  • Staff are certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid (exp 01/17/24) and Mandated Reporter Training.
  • First Aid supplies, smoke detector, carbon monoxide and fire extinguishers were observed and in operable condition. Medications are locked and stored inside of a cabinet in the site supervisor's work space. Trash cans with tight lids were observed.
  • Children files were reviewed and found to be complete. The facility roster and fire drills were up to date, and all staff have been fingerprinted and associated to the designated license number. The last fire and emergency disaster drill documented was on 02/23/2022.

During the inspection LPA's observed adequate teacher child ratio in the classroom. Care and supervision was evaluated and determine basic needs of children are appropriate and are being met.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director is reminded to report any Unusual Incidents according to Section 101212 of Title 22 Regulations.



Prior to working or volunteering in a licensed child care facility, all individuals subject to a criminal record review shall obtain a clearance or criminal record exemption. If a fingerprint clearance has been obtained through the Department, Licensee may request a transfer of a criminal record clearance from one state licensed facility to another using form LIC 9182.

Consultation was provided during this inspection. Exit interview conducted and a copy of this report was left at the facility with Director, Jennifer Carter.
