25 | On February 28, 2024, at 2:20 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kendal Zirbes met with Facility Representative Jade Wilkinson. The purpose of the inspection was to conduct a health and safety check on the new climbing structure in the outdoor play space. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection to the facility representative. Present during today’s inspection were 48 preschool age children, four teachers and additional administrative staff providing care and supervision.
LPA and Administrator conducted a tour of the preschool outdoor activity space. LPA observed a new play structure has been installed. According to the Administrator the play structure is suitable for preschool age children. Per Administrator two and three year old children will only be allowed to play on the first level of the play structure. The play structure is equipped with gates which will prevent the two and three year old children from accessing the second level. Children four years of age and older will be allowed to play on the entire structure. LPA observed the play structured was securely anchored to the ground. The play structure was placed on rubber playground surfacing which provides cushioning in cause of falls.
LPA advised the Administrator to conduct a staff training regarding the new play structure.
Based on LPA observations the new outdoor play structure is in accordance with the regulations at this time.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Administrator April Dogero. |
