32 | Outdoor: The infant children use a separate small playing area within the large playing area which is fenced all around. There is a large umbrella type canopy area which provides shade and rest. Children’s use of the outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, good repair, and age appropriateness. The entire playing area has rubber flooring to support or cushion a fall. The area was observed to be free of debris, free from hazards, holes, and broken items.
Staff/Personnel Records: Designation of Responsibility observed, immunization's, TB clearance, mandated reporter training, Director qualifications, health screening, criminal record statement, and a statement acknowledging suspected child abuse are available for review.
Facility Records: Roster, Fire/Disaster and Earthquake drill log last completed on 08/14/2025, CPR/First Aid (9/21/2026) and Mandated Report training (09/12/26) were reviewed and maintained current. Sign-in and out sheets were reviewed.
Posting Requirements: Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty. The following were observed posted as required: Facility license, Personal Rights (LIC613A), Child passenger restraint system poster (PUB 269), Notification of Parent’s Rights (PUB 393), Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148).
Food Service: The facility provides breakfast, snacks, and lunch. Menus are posted in front of the day-care entrance door. LPA observed an appropriate amount of food and snacks inside the kitchen. Cleaning solutions and other chemicals are kept in the cabinet underneath the kitchen sink and the kitchen is locked and inaccessible to day care children.
Advisory/Other: First aid supplies (thermometer, bandages, scissors) are readily available in the office. There is an isolation area for children who become ill while in care located in the front office. The director also stated that if the child is sick, children are isolated and taken to the staff bathroom and supervised until parents pick up the child. Smoking is prohibited on the premises, and daily inspection for illness is conducted. Firearms/weapons are not allowed or stored on the premises. There are no pools or bodies of water on the premises. Daily Activity Schedule was observed. LPA observed water lead testing (6/8/2022).
Electrical outlets are inaccessible, there are no recalled or prohibited toys or sleep/play equipment that were observed on the premises. There are no window cords accessible to children.
Teacher-child ratios were observed, and staff names were recorded. Care and supervision were evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children were met and appropriate.
