32 | First Aid supplies, smoke detector, carbon monoxide and fire extinguishers were observed and in operable condition. Medications are locked and stored inside of a cabinet in the Directors work space. Trash cans with tight lids were observed. Center supplies snacks only, children bring their own lunches. Snack menu's are posted.
The outdoor play area was inspected and observed to be free of hazards, loose, or sharp objects. Equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. Climbing structures, slides, and play equipment were found to be securely anchored with adequate resilient cushioning material underneath and around the perimeter (sand, LPA reminded Director to ensure staff go out before children to ensure the sand has been raked and free of any safety hazards). The playground is surrounded by chain link fencing which was 6 ft high. LPA observed at least 3 separate shaded areas on the play yard.
Director was reminded to ensure all staff have required Immunization's, fingerprint clearances, qualifications, and renew their Mandated Reporter training every 2 years.
Earthquake safety and necessity of drills are to be conducted every 6 months and logged; Required forms for children’s files, facility files, staff files, and posting requirements; Fingerprint clearances and the transfer process.
