1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On 5/17/2023 at 11:01am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and met with Director, Dana Trowbridge. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was led on a tour of the facility. Days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. The following ratios were observed: there were 28 preschool children from Rooms 106, 107, and 111 on the playground supervised by three (3) teachers, there were five (5) toddlers (18 -36 months) in Room 110 supervised by one (1) teacher, there were five (5) toddlers (18 - 36 months) from Room 108 on a separate playground supervised by one (1) teacher. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation. Bathrooms are maintained, toilets and hand-washing equipment are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. Food preparation area is clean and free of litter and rubbish. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children. Playground equipment is in safe condition. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. The area under high-climbing equipment and slides has rubber cushioning to absorb falls. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Facility has functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. The last fire/disaster drill was conducted and documented 11/18/2022. Director stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. Director stated there are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. The facility provides morning and afternoon snack. Children bring their own lunch. Menus are posted weekly. A review of staff records on this date indicates facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained. Children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. Facility maintains a ratio of one teacher supervising no more than 12 children in care. Facility maintains a ratio of one teacher to no more than six (6) children in the toddler component. At least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid is present when children are at the facility. The person who signs the child in/out of the facility shall use their full legal signature and record the time of day. LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with contact information for authorized representative and or relatives or others who can assume responsibility for the child and medical assessment. LPA reviewed a sample of staff files and observed files were complete with health screening and immunization. Facility staff has documentation of completed mandated reporter training on file.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. LPA and director discussed the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to Guardian and California Megan’s Law (www.meganslaw.ca.gov).

No deficiencies cited. An exit interview was conducted with Director, Dana Trowbridge, and a copy of this report, Appeal Rights and Notice of Site Visit were provided. Notice of Site Visit is required to be posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. LPA observed Notice of Site Visit posted on the bulletin board in the class sign in/sign out area.
