25 | On 5/30/24 at 1:30 PM, LPA Annette Sutherland made an unannounced CASE MANAGEMENT inspection, for reported Lead Exceedance. LPA met with Director, Ramona Van Deweghe. Also present in the facility were 18 day care children and 4 staff members in 3 rooms. Facility was within ratio & capacity. LPA interviewed director and examined the faucet deemed an Action Level Exceedance.
Faucet reported with 5.5 ppb or greater lead exceedance levels was as follow:
Classroom #106 Hand Washing Sink 11.00 ppb
Classroom sink in exceedance is a classroom that has not been in use since 2019 but since testing Director has since posted a "Do not use for drinking or food handling" sign above the sink in exceedance to remind staff not to use the sink for drinking water or food preparation. Sink was tested back in 2022 documents were submitted to department at last annual. Director had the sink replaced but was never retested again as classroom is not in use and has not been in use for several years therefore no deficiencies have been cited.
Children at the center bring water bottles to school each day and the facility provides filtered water to refill the bottles.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Ramona Van Deweghe.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. |
