32 | the number of children being requested. The smaller playground measured to be 2338.14 square feet and the larger playground measured to be 6399.60 square feet. A playground waiver to share the playground at different times in the AM and PM due to limited square footage shall be submitted and approved prior to the approval of the capacity increase of 136 children. The smaller playground that is use by the 2-year-old children, shade is provided via a sail shade, trees, and umbrella. The larger playground that is use by the 3-, 4- and 5-years old children shade is provided via a large umbrella shade structure, multiple umbrellas and trees. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on both playgrounds that does not have a manufacturer's sticker, but it appears to be age appropriate for preschool children based on the height. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of both climbers provided by wood chips. Drinking water is available via the children's own water bottles. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Director was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
