On 3/5/25 at 8:35 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Renita Rodriguez visited the facility to conduct an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with Director Renee Erickson and proceeded to tour the facility. During today's inspection, there were 29 children with 3 staff. Classroom is an open space separated by bookshelves and half-walls. Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed. Appropriate care & visual supervision were also observed during the inspection while children were playing and working on activities at tables.

Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition. Facility has adequate heating, lighting, ventilation. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide are operational. Drinking water is readily accessible. There is a restroom for the children in care and a separate restroom for the staff. There are 6 toilets and 6 sinks in the children's restroom. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Bathroom is lighted and has ventilation. Children bring their own lunches and snacks are provided for the children. Lunch can also be provided by the facility when needed and or requested. Food service area consists of a kitchen/break area which is clean and free of hazards. Menu is posted. Adequate food is available for meals and snacks. Cleaning supplies are kept separate from food and are inaccessible to children. Storage areas for hazardous items are locked. There are sufficient cots available for children to nap. Cots stored appropriately. Director stated there are no firearms or other weapons on the premises.

Outdoor play area is a fenced playground with sufficient material for cushioning. There are no bodies of water at this facility. Climbing structures, swings and slides are securely fixed to the ground. Equipment is age appropriate. Area has drinking water readily accessible and grounds are free of debris or potential hazards.

LPA reviewed medication storage. At least one staff member has current CPR and First Aid certifications. Children and staff records were reviewed. Sign ins were reviewed.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test.

For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).

LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
