25 | On 12/11/24 at 11:45am, Licensing Program Analysts, Renita Rodriguez and Hanna Luca, met with Roxanne Chapel for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were 4 children present with 1 teacher in one room. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates approximately Monday – Friday from 6:30 -7:30am and 1:50pm – 6pm. During the summer, program operates M - F 6:30 – 6:00pm.
LPA toured the outdoor play area for the school age children and observed a hole in the dirt area by the chain link fence located on the left side of the play area.
LPA toured the facility. The room was clean, orderly and a comfortable temperature during this visit. Adequate ventilation and heating are available. The furniture, books, games, and toys are safe and in good repair. There is a variety of activities available. All required forms were posted. There is a kitchen which is clean and sanitary. Drinking water is readily available.
Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary, and operating condition. Medications are kept in a cabinet in the Director’s office, inaccessible to children. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccssible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play area is fully fenced, separate from other programs. Playground equipment and outdoor surfaces are in a safe condition. Director was reminded all equipment should be used to manufacture’s recommendations. Portable water is used outdoors. There are no bodies of water, firearms, or ammunition on the property. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. The facility has a written disaster plan in place that meets regulatory requirement and has been conducting and documenting evacuation drills every six months. The facility does not transport children, but a staff will meet them after school on elementary school campus across the street and walk them to the facility. |
