25 | On 5/10/23 at 12:01 PM, Licensing Program Analyst, Annette Sutherland, met with Director Lauren Miller for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were no children present for the school age. Facility had 11 present this morning prior to arrival and then children were walked to school. Facility was within ratio and capacity. Program operates M – F from 6:45 Am - 6:15pm.
LPA toured the facility. The room was clean, orderly and a comfortable temperature during this visit. Adequate ventilation and heating are available. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. There is a variety of activities available throughout the day. All required forms were posted. All storage containers and trashes have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. There is kitchen which is clean and sanitary. Facility no longer serves lunch to children. Children bring their own lunches every day. Drinking water is readily available. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. Medications are kept in the locked cabinet in the kitchen, inaccessible to children. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play area is fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and adequate shade, separate from other programs. Age appropriate playground equipment and outdoor surfaces are in a safe condition. Portable water is used outdoors. The facility’s bodies of water (pools and Jacuzzi’s) are appropriately inaccessible per regulation.
No firearms or ammunition on the property. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. The facility has a written disaster plan in place that meets regulatory requirement and has been conducting and documenting evacuation drills every six months. The facility walks school age children to school in the mornings adn walks back in the afternoon. |
