On 2/24/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janette Romero arrived unannounced to conduct a required annual required inspection. LPA phoned Executive Director (ED), Kecia Stinnett who arrived to the facility to meet with LPA.

On 9/24/2024, a fire erupted in the facility resulting in the home becoming unhabitable. ED reported the clients who resided in the home during the fire incident were immediately and appropriately relocated, and the home is not currently occupied. LPA and ED conducted a tour of the inside of the first floor of the home and garage. The second floor of the facility is not safe to tour. During the walk-through, LPA continued to detect a burnt/smoke odor in the home. ED reported the cause of the fire remains under investigation and the extent of the damages are still unknown. Perishable and non-perishable food was discarded after the fire incident and will be been replenished when the home becomes habitable. During the tour, LPA observed there is no electricity or gas available in the facility and ED reported this was a result of the fire damage. During the fire incident, fire department staff made a hole in the roof to contain the fire. ED reported as a result of the recent rains, the kitchen wall has now developed water damage and mold. ED added the facility requires several permits and repairs before it is safe for clients to return to the home. Before any clients are readmitted to the home, ED will contact the Riverside Regional Office for an additional inspection to ensure the facility meets licensing standards. At this time, ED does not have an estimated date of when clients will be able to return to the facility. ED added any updates they receive will be provided to the Department. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was reviewed and provided to ED.
