Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jacqueline Shaw Ross conducted an unannounced annual visit. LPA met with the Program Manager Mary Winters at the front entrance and was granted entry. The purpose of today’s visit is to inspect the facility to ensure that the facility is in compliance with California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 6. Facility is approved for 75 developmentally disabled adult clients ages 18 and above, in which twenty (20) may be non-ambulatory.

Tour included:
Physical Plant: front entrance and interior of the building was clean and in good repair with no pathway obstruction, facility's temperature read at 76 degrees; clients’ main restroom hot water temperature read at 116.4 degrees and all cleaning solutions were locked in a secure area. Facility does not house firearms and/or ammunition on grounds. There is a sufficient number of staff to meet the needs of the clients at today's visit.The program operates mainly at the facility with weekly outings in the community. LPA observed the schedule of activities. Outdoor activity space is provided and free from obstruction.

Food Services: LPA observed sufficient supply of snacks for clients in care less than 8 hours; such as a variety of cookies/crackers, milk chocolate and ice tea. LPA observed food items properly stored and available to clients in care in the main activity room and kitchen area.

Items reviewed/discussed: There were six (6) staff present during the visit. All staff present have a criminal record clearance in file and are associated to the facility. Emergency/Fire drills are conducted monthly and the last emergency/fire drill was conducted on 8/23/2023.

All required postings were posted near the main entrance of the facility and hand-washing signage were posted in all bathrooms. LPA reviewed random staff and clients’ records, and facility files. LPA was informed two clients are receiving medications at the day program. Clients’ medications were inspected and were observed to be properly dispensed according to the physicians’ orders.

No deficiencies were observed during today's visit. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report along with Licensee's Rights (LIC 9098) was provided to Program Manager, Mary Winters.
