25 | On 3/7/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janette Romero conducted an unannounced visit to the facility to conduct a required annual inspection. LPA met with Administrator, Gillian Hennessey who was informed of the purpose of the visit. The facility has a fire clearance for a total capacity of 60 adults of which 50 may be non-ambulatory. During the visit, Administrator Hennessey reported there was 48 clients and 25 staff present. LPA was also informed the facility is a licensed vendor of the San Diego Regional Center.
LPA toured the facility with Administrator Hennessey. The facility is made up of three (3) classrooms, four (4) client restrooms, several staff offices, a kitchen/dining room, and multipurpose room. LPA toured the kitchen and observed the kitchen area to be clean. LPA was informed clients provide their own snacks to consume during day program hours. Restrooms were clean, had toilet paper and incontinent supplies along with soap and paper towels readily available. Client medication is typically secured in a medication lock box stored in one of the staff offices; however, LPA was informed that the facility does not have any clients who currently require medication assistance during day program hours. LPA reviewed random staff and resident files. Staff present have a criminal record clearance on file. Client files reviewed had updated Individual Program Plans and assessments. The facility’s smoke alarm was not tested due to several clients’ photosensitivity to the fire alarm system’s flashing lights. As a result, LPA reviewed the facility’s System Record of Inspection and Testing (SRIT) dated 10/10/2024 conducted by Siemens Industry, Inc. The SRIT noted the fire alarm system was inspected on 10/10/2024 and found to be functioning properly. LPA reviewed the facility’s Record of Evacuation Training noting the facility’s last fire drill was conducted on 11/12/2024. LPA also observed several fire extinguishers charged and mounted throughout the facility that were last serviced on 3/7/2024. LPA was informed the fire extinguishers will be serviced next week. During today’s visit, LPA did not observe any issues or concerns. An exit interview was conducted, and this report was reviewed and provided to Administrator Hennessey. |
