LPA audited a sample of residents’ Medication Administration Record (MAR) for the month of March 2026 which did not reveal any missed medications. Medications not taken by residents were documented accordingly as refusals or appropriately noted otherwise. Interviews with residents did not report staff missing their medications. Interviews with medication technicians were able to demonstrate the seven rights of medication administration and walked LPA through the process of how medications are administered to residents. Additionally, during unannounced visits LPA observed medications being administered to residents and observed medication technicians ensuring the right meds were being administered and completing the MAR.
The Department has investigated the allegation that staff did not administer medication to a resident in care. Based upon the information obtained during this investigation, it is determined that the preponderance of evidence was not met to support or corroborate this allegation and therefore deemed unsubstantiated.
An exit interview was conducted with Executive Director Liz Najera, to whom a copy of this report and the Licensee’s Rights (LIC9058 01/16) were provided.
