Department Interviews with the staff revealed that an A/C unit in the hallway had frozen and overflowed, causing a leak. Staff reported they discovered the leak promptly, redirected residents, cleaned water, and placed buckets, cones, and tarps to control the leak. Staff reported the issue was corrected within a timely manner. Photos provided by the RP showed water on the floor on certain dates and one instance where a caution sign was not present; however, interviews indicate staff responded quickly once aware of the leak and took steps to mitigate the condition. During the visit, the memory care hallway was dry and free of hazards, and no active leak was observed.
Regarding the room with the slow-cooling air conditioning unit. Department interviews and records review with staff reveal a work order was already submitted and fans were used to maintain comfort. LPA observed the room to be within Title 22 cooling range, and the resident appeared comfortable. Due to cognitive impairment, the resident was not considered a reliable historian.
Based on interviews, photo evidence, records review, and LPA observations, a preponderance of evidence does not support that allegations. Therefore, the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.
An exit interview was conducted with the Executive Director, and a copy of this report and the Licensee/Appeal Rights (LIC 9058) were provided. |
