Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tiffany Holmes conducted an unannounced investigation to close out a complaint investigation regarding the above mentioned allegation. LPA was greeted by, identified herself to, Nick Fierro, Administrator.

During the initial visit on 12/03/2024 by LPA Serrano, the facility was toured. LPA Holmes conducted interviews with staff and clients. It was alleged that the staff did not safeguard resident's personal belongings. Interviews with clients revealed that
they have not had any issues with items missing or being taken. Interviews revealed that there are storage bins if they need it. Interviews with staff revealed that they offered Client 1 (C1) a storage closet that was right next to their room to store extra items. C1 did not have access to it, however whenever they wanted or needed anything out of it the administrator would get it for them. Interviews revealed that C1 had a lot of items and kept up with their belongings. Interviews with staff revealed they conduct a walk through/rounds frequently to check on the safety of clients and to make sure nothing is going on that they should not be doing. Interviews revealed that the staff make sure that clients are putting their items up and not leaving them out for others to take. Interviews did not reveal that staff did not safeguard resident's personal belongings.

The Department has investigated the above-mentioned allegation and based on interviews, LPA observations, and records review, it was determined that the complaint allegation is Unsubstantiated. The allegation may have happened or is valid, but there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred.

Based on interviews, the allegation of staff did not safeguard resident's personal belongings is Unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted with Nick Fierro Administrator. A copy of this report and the Licensee's Rights (LIC9058 03/22) were provided to Administrator at the end of the visit.
