On September 19, 2023, at 10:05 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Courtnee Peebles arrived unannounced to LEARNING JUNGLE ESCONDIDO (CCC) and met with director Paige Eusebio to discuss the investigative finding of the allegation listed above. On September 19, 2023 at 10:05 AM, LPA conducted a tour and census of the CCC. During the investigation, LPA conducted confidential interviews with five staff (D, AD, S1, S2, S3).

On August 25, 2023, a complaint was received with allegations stating the CCC staff did not provide adequate supervision to day care children and Staff speaks inappropriately to children in care. Confidential interviews disclosed that S3 has been a newly hired teacher who is currently adjusting to having her own classroom. Interviews revealed S3 speaks down to children having expectations of a six-year-old onto three-year-olds and will leave child unattended while they are in the restroom. S3 is reluctant to assistant potty-training children with pulling their pants up, assisting with wiping, and changing diapers.

Based on confidential interviews conducted during the investigation the allegation that the staff did not provide adequate supervision to day care children and Staff speaks inappropriately to children in care, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met and the allegations that staff did not provide adequate supervision to day care children and Staff speaks inappropriately to children in carehave been made substantiated. A copy of this report and appeal rights were given and explained to Director Paige Eusebio.
