25 | On July 13, 2022 at 1:10 p.m. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Leilani Curtis conducted an unannounced case management inspection in reference to the Licensee’s request for an increase in capacity. Upon arrival LPA met with Director Karyne Begin and proceeded to tour the facility. There were 40 napping children with 3 staff members present. Appropriate ratios were observed. Staff members have the required background clearances and are associated to the facility.
The facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 48 children. The Licensee requests to increase capacity to 60 children which will include 36 preschool children ages 3-5 years old in rooms 1, 2 and 3, and 24 toddler children ages 18-36 months in rooms 5, 6, and 7. The following classrooms were previously measured as follows:
Room 1: 410 sq. ft. of indoor space.
Room 2: 410 sq. ft. of indoor space.
Room 3: 410 sq. ft. of indoor space.
Room 5: 251 sq. ft. of indoor space.
Room 6: 333 sq. ft. of indoor space.
During today’s inspection LPA measured the following classroom:
Room 7: 409 sq. ft. of indoor space.
The total preschool indoor space (rooms 1, 2 and 3) is 1,230 sq. ft. and will accommodate 35 children. The total toddler indoor space (rooms 5, 6 and 7) is 993 sq. ft. and will accommodate 28 children. LPA observed a total of 10 sinks and 6 toilets available for the children to use. A fire clearance for a capacity of 60 children was granted on 6/28/22. |
