On September 10, 2024, at 1:16 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Sherlynn Banas conducted an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee, Tanya Odeesh and provided the Inspection Checklist (LIC126). The licensee's sister, Claudia Emad translated over the phone for licensee. The one story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Licensee stated she has 6 enrolled children, but at time of inspection, there were no children present. Licensee stated that they arrive at 3:00 PM. The fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide/smoke detector in one meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There are no bodies of water on the property. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home.

Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for childcare include the living room, dining room, kitchen, childcare bedroom 1, childcare bedroom 2, backyard, and bathroom. Off limits areas include the rest of the bedrooms and the other bathroom with the use of doorknob covers. There is a working phone at the daycare. The licensee has sufficient age appropriate, safe, toys and equipment available. Verification of control of property is on file.

Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire in July 2026. Licensee meets immunization requirements. No Mandated Reporter Training. Licensee speaks Arabic and Chaldean and speaks few English. Children’s records were reviewed. Required documents are posted. Emergency drills have been conducted. The last drill was on June 28, 2024.
