Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced annual inspection with licensee, Kimberly Turner. The two story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Present was licensee, her husband, helper, and 12 day care children. The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched and secured out of reach of children.

First Aid and CPR certification for licensee expires March 2024. Licensee has required immunizations and a Letter of Declination of Flu shot on file. Licensee and her husband have completed Mandated Reporter Training which expire February 2024.

Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for childcare include: Living room, Bathroom 1, Kitchen, Dining room, Nook, and Back Yard. Off limits areas include: All upstairs, Optional bedroom 5, and Garage. The licensee has sufficient toys and equipment available. The home has a fenced backyard with an exit door that has been approved by the fire department available for outdoor activities. Licensee has no infants enrolled at this time.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
