25 | On 3/9/2022, at approximately 10:08am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Jennifer Lott and Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced Annual Licensing Inspection. LPAs were greeted at the front door by Licensee, Amy Wimberly and granted entry after identifying themselves, asking the Covid questions, and disclosing the purpose of their visit. The licensee is using the following areas for daycare: Living room, Bedroom 1,Kitchen, backyard and Bathroom 1. Off limit areas include: Bedroom 2, Bedroom 3, Bathroom 2, Front yard, and garage. Business Hours are: Monday- Thursday, 8:30am-1:30pm. The facility currently has 11 children in care. Licensee is operating within the licensed ratio and capacity.
At 11:00am, LPA Velando tested the smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector located in the hallway area. Both devices were functional. Licensee advised there are no bodies of water on the premises and LPAs did not observe any bodies of water on the premises. Licensee advised there are no firearms or ammunition stored on the premises.
There is a fireplace that has been screened. There are no stairs in the home. Storage for poisons, detergents, cleaning solutions, medications are locked and inaccessible to children. There is an outdoor play area that is fenced. Licensee has conducted disaster/fire drill on September 2021. The home is kept clean and orderly with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The home provides safe toys, play equipment and materials.
Pediatric CPR and First Aid cards are valid. Mandated Child Abuse Reporting as per AB1207 is valid. Staff immunizations were reviewed and in compliance. There is a working telephone and email address.
Licensee Amy Wimberly was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
