25 | On 8/22/23 at 2:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Keturah Lane conducted an unannounced annual inspection with the Licensee. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee, Ma De La Luz Guevara and provided the Inspection Checklist (LIC126). The two-story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Present were the Licensee, Licensee’s helper Erika Ortiz, husband Angel Gevara Ramos and 11 daycare children (including 3 infants). Proper supervision, ratios and capacity were observed. The fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide/smoke detector combo meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There are no bodies of water on the property. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for childcare include: family room, dining room, kitchen, play room and bathroom. Off limits areas include: laundry room, pantry, storage closets and entire second story which includes 3 bedrooms and 2 additional bathrooms and are inaccessible through use of door-knob covers and a gate at bottom of stairs. There is a working phone at the facility. The licensee has sufficient age appropriate, safe, toys and equipment available. The home has a fenced backyard patio available for outdoor activities. Verification of control of property is on file. Licensee owns the home. (continued on LIC809-C...) |
