25 | On 9/22/23 at 9:50 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Keturah Lane and Renita Rodriguez conducted an unannounced annual inspection with the Licensee. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Licensee, Hawa Ahmed and provided the Inspection Checklist (LIC126). The two-story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Present were the Licensee, and two adult sons. Proper supervision, ratios and capacity were observed. The fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector, and smoke detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There are no bodies of water on the property. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for childcare include: living room, bedroom #1, bathroom and kitchen. Off limits areas include: bedroom #2, bedroom #3, bedroom #4, 2nd living room, laundry room and master bedroom which includes another bathroom (upstairs) and are inaccessible through use of door-knob covers and safety gates. The staircase is inaccessible as it is through the 2nd living room made inaccessible by a safety gate. The backyard is off-limits. Licensee states she takes the children to a nearby park for outdoor activities and understands visual supervision is required at all times. There is a working phone at the facility. The licensee has sufficient age appropriate, safe, toys and equipment available. Verification of control of property is on file. Property owner/Landlord notification and consent are on file.
