On 3/11/25 at 8:35 a.m.., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Renita Rodriguez and Hector Canton, conducted an announced PrelicensingCapacity change Inspection. An annual was also completed during the inspection. LPAs were greeted at the front door by licensee Amira Taqatqah.

The two story 2 bedroom and 1 bathroom townhouse was toured and inspected for compliance. The children are provided a safe, healthful, and comfortable environment, furnishings, and equipment. 1 child in care present during inspection. Areas used for child care include living room on first floor and the bathroom located on the second floor. The bedrooms located on the second floor are off limits. There is a safety gate located at the bottom of the stairs. The licensee has sufficient toys and equipment available. The license states the outdoor area located as you exit the sliding glass door in the living room is available for outdoor activities. Licensee understands that visual supervision is required at all times during outdoor activities.

The last emergency drill was 1/2025. The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector are located on the first floor of the townhouse, meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. The kitchen cabinets were latched and locked. There is a body of water/community swimming pool on the property and it is properly fenced. First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 11/4/25. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee is not required to complete Mandated Reporter Training. Licensee primary language is Arabic. Children’s records were reviewed.

LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Amira Taqatqah.

During the exit interview, the Licensee, Amira Taqatqah confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
