25 | On April 13, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Leilani Curtis conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with Licensee, Khadro Naghiye. LPA provided the LIC 126, Entrance Checklist to Licensee. There were no children in care. The licensee states that she has 15 children enrolled and the children come at different times. LPA conducted a tour of the home inside and outside per facility sketch. Licensee is using the following areas for daycare: living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom #1 and front yard. Off-limits areas include: all bedrooms (bedroom #1, bedroom #2, bedroom #3), bathroom #2 (located within bedroom #1) and rear yard.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Home is clean, orderly and has adequate ventilation. Children’s toys and play equipment are available and observed free of hazards. There are no stairs in the home. There is a working telephone/email address. All cleaning compounds, detergents, medications, and poisons are made inaccessible through latches, locks, and/or placed up on high surfaces. The fireplace is screened. The fire extinguisher and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are operational. Licensee states there are NO firearms or other weapons in the home. The outdoor play area is partially fenced. The licensee understands that she must maintain 100% visual supervision of the children in care while the children are playing in the front yard. There are no existing bodies of water present. Children records were reviewed for Emergency Information. The licensee does not maintain signed and dated emergency information cards or signed consent for emergency medical treatment forms for the children enrolled. The licensee does not maintain a current children’s roster or sleep logs for the two infants enrolled. The last documented disaster/fire drill occurred on 10/15/2021. There are no new adults living or working in the home over the age of 18 years. All adult residents and helpers have submitted or been cleared for criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Pediatric CPR and First-Aid certificates are valid through 4/19/2023. Licensee is exempt from Mandated Reporter AB1207 training certification due to licensee having limited English proficiency, licensee’s primary language is Somali. Immunization records per SB792 were reviewed and are in compliance. |
