On 6/5/23 at 1130 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Mangina conducted an unannounced Annual inspection with the Licensee. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee, Karima Danisu. The two-story three bedrooms and three bathroom townhouse was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Also present in the home were Licensee’s sister Saroofa Danishju Sareer and her husband Fazel Rahman Sareer, two day care children and Licensee’s three minor relatives. Proper supervision and ratios were observed. The 2A10BC fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector, and smoke detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There are no bodies of water on the property. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that two adults in the home Saroofa Danishju Sareer and her husband Fazel Rahman Sareer do not have criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA observed that Licensee’s sister and brother in law are not fingerprint cleared. Licensee states they arrived last night.

Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 12/21/23 and Helper’s (husband Mohammad Arshad) CPR/First Aid expire 4/3/24. Licensee and staff meet immunization requirements. Mandated Reporter Training was waived due to language. Licensee maintains emergency records for children. LPA reviewed 2 child files. Licensee was reminded to ensure that each child has a signed LIC627 in file. Last disaster drill was 2/20/23.
