25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Jennifer Lott, conducted an announced Pre-Licensing Inspection. LPA was greeted at the front door by Applicant, Briksam Gad and granted entry after identifying herself and disclosing the purpose of her visit. The applicant has applied for a capacity of fourteen. The home consists of four (4) bedroom and three (3) bathrooms, plus a loft, laundry room and garage. The applicant will be using the following areas for daycare: Kitchen, living room, dining room, downstairs bathroom, backyard, upstairs will use bedroom #2, bathroom #2 and loft. Off limit areas include: Front yard, garage, upstairs to include bedrooms/bathroom #1, #3, #4 and laundry room.
A fire clearance was granted on 10/27/22 by the local Fire Department. The home has a functioning smoke detector and fire extinguisher, however a carbon monoxide detector will need to be purchased. There is a fireplace which is screened but not operational at this time. Storage areas for poisons, detergents, cleaning solutions, medications and items which state keep out of reach of children have been locked and inaccessible. There are no bodies of water at the home.
Applicant, Gad, advised there are no firearms or ammunition stored on the premises. The home is kept clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Where children less than 5 years old are in care, stairs are fenced and/or barricaded. The home provides safe toys, play equipment and materials. The applicant has completed training on preventative health practices including pediatric CPR and First Aid. Staff immunization were reviewed and in compliance. There is a working phone and email address.
