25 | On 12/20/22 at 9:50am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patrick Ma conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection with the applicant Irma Torres-Hernandez. Also present in the home was adult daughter, Carolina Leano. Licensee’s primary language is Spanish. Daughter helped translate during the inspection. The 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 1 story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children.
Applicant will be using the living room, dining room, bedroom 2, and hallway bathroom for child care. Off limit areas are kitchen, backyard, master bedroom and bathroom are inaccessible by use of gate and door lock. The applicant has sufficient toys and equipment available. Applicant will use front yard for outdoor activities. Front yard is fully fenced, however, licensee was advised to provide visual supervision at all times when children are outdoors.
The fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector, and smoke detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There are no bodies of water on the property. Applicant states that there are no weapons in the home. Applicant states that they have sufficient financial resources to sustain the license. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Applicant rents the home and has provided proof of control of property and the Landlord Notification. Applicant understands that, at this time, she may care for up to 6 children. Landlord Consent (LIC9149) form provided to applicant if she would like to care for more than 6 and up to 8 children. First Aid and CPR expire on 5/2024 and preventative health practices course was completed on 12/7/22. Applicant completed Mandated Reporter Training and expires on 9/27/24. Staff immunization requirements per SB792 were met.
