25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Saraliz Velando, conducted an announced Prelicensing Inspection for a change of location. LPA was greeted at the front door by Reta Hanna. LPA was granted entry after identifying herself and disclosing the purpose of her visit. Her daughter, Lara Putrus was also present and provided translation in Arabic/Chaldean. Applicant stated that she has one minor child living in the home. The applicant has applied for a capacity of eight (8). The one-level home consists of four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The applicant will be using the following areas for daycare: Living room, Dining room, Family room, Kitchen, Bedroom 4, Bathroom 2, and Back Yard. Off limit areas include: Bedroom 1, 2, and 3, Bathroom 1, Shed, Front Yard, and Garage and have been made inaccessible by doorknob covers, and locks. Outdoor play will take place in the Backyard area. The back yard has a side area and the area that surrounds the shed with storage items will need to be made inaccessible to children before it can be approved. The home has a functioning smoke alarm in the dining room area and carbon monoxide alarm in the hallway, they are both functional. There is a fire extinguisher in the kitchen that meets Title 22 regulations. There are no open face heaters, but there is a fireplace that has been screened for safety of the children. Storage areas for poisons, detergents, cleaning solutions, medications, and items which state keep out of reach of children have been placed in Off Limit rooms, placed out of reach, and latched to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water at the unit. There is a garage that has been made inaccessible by a doorknob cover and lock. Applicant stated there are no weapons or ammunition stored on the premises and LPA did not observe any. The home is kept clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The home also provides safe toys, play equipment and materials. The applicant has completed training on preventive health practices including pediatric CPR/First Aid which expires August 2023. The applicant speaks mostly Arabic/Chaldean and is exempt from Mandated Reporter Training. There is a working telephone and email address. |
