25 | On 6/27/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Joelle Redding, made an unannounced visit to inspect the facility for an increase in capacity. Licensee's request was received on 3/30/23. Fire clearance was granted on 6/6/2023.
LPA inspected the facility, confirmed an operational fire extinguisher. smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector, reviewed existing children's records and roster, and discussed capacity limitations. A handout was provided Licensee understands that he may not operate at a large family capacity unless there is a qualified assistant present. If there is no assistant, Licensee must follow the small family home capacity limitations. A qualified assistant must have a negative TB test, fingerprint clearance and association, Immunization or proof of immunity to measles, pertussis and influenza, a current Mandated Reporter Training (AB 1207) certification unless unable to read/speak English and a current EMSA certified First Aid/CPR certification if they will be alone with children at any time. Licensee owns the property so no notification or consent is required. LPA confirmed that the garage is not being used except for occasional use, and the facility sketch has been updated to reflect that the 2nd floor will be off limits.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. |
